A person shall not sell, trade, loan or give away any form, type or kind of fire extinguisher
which is not approved by regulations or laws of the state including the Michigan Administrative
Code. A person shall not sell or trade any fire extinguisher which is not in proper
working order or the contents of which do not meet the requirements of state law or
regulation, including the Michigan Administrative Code. This section shall not apply
to the sale or trade of obsolete or damaged equipment for junk, as long as said items
being exchanged are permanently disfigured or marked and identified as junk.
